Sixteen Classes Built to Stack on Each Other

Programming That Has a Point of View

A lot of gyms offer group classes. What Heritage Vaughn offers is a group training program — a meaningful distinction. Every class on our schedule was designed as part of a larger periodized structure, which means the Wednesday barbell session is intentionally sequenced relative to Monday's conditioning and Friday's accessory work. Our head programmer, Coach Tomás Reyes, has a background in collegiate strength and conditioning and builds each 8-week block with a defined adaptation target: hypertrophy, strength expression, or aerobic base expansion. Members who attend consistently — three or more sessions per week — see cumulative results that open-gym regulars simply don't match. The cream-and-burgundy training floor and the deliberate group size cap (twelve per class maximum) create an atmosphere where you're simultaneously in a class and in a training session with real accountability.

Class Formats at Heritage Vaughn

Every format is coached, capped at twelve members, and programmed in periodized 8-week blocks.

Barbell Strength

Four sessions weekly focusing on squat, hinge, press, and pull variations. Loading is tracked across the 8-week block, with deload weeks built into weeks four and eight. Suitable for members from beginner to intermediate — coaches scale every lift individually within the group setting.

Conditioning & Cardio

Three weekly sessions built around Assault bikes, rower intervals, sled work, and metabolic circuits. These sessions are programmed in direct response to the week's strength loading, so you're building aerobic capacity without compromising recovery from the barbell work.

Mobility & Recovery

Two weekly 45-minute sessions focused on joint health, tissue quality, and movement preparation. Not a yoga class — these sessions are structured around the specific mobility demands of the current strength block and are considered a required complement, not optional extras.

Barbell Technique Clinic

One Saturday morning per month, open to all membership tiers. A 90-minute deep-dive on one movement pattern — squat mechanics, conventional deadlift setup, overhead pressing position — with video review and individualized coaching cues. The most popular session on our calendar by a wide margin.

Partner & Community WOD

Two Friday sessions per month structured around partner-based training. These are the most community-focused classes on the schedule — and deliberately programmed to be approachable at any fitness level, so long-term members and recent additions train side by side without an awkward skill gap.

The Barbell Technique Clinic in March was the most useful 90 minutes I've spent in a gym in ten years. Coach Tomás filmed my deadlift setup from three angles, identified a hip shift I'd had since my very first lift, and gave me a two-drill correction that fixed it in two sessions. That kind of coaching doesn't happen in a normal group class — Heritage Vaughn made it happen.

Class Questions, Answered Honestly

Do I need experience to join a group class?

No prior gym experience is required for any Heritage Vaughn class. Every format is coached, and every coach is responsible for providing individualized scaling within the group setting. That said, all new members complete a 45-minute intake assessment before their first class — so your coach already knows your starting point before you walk in.

How far in advance can I reserve a class spot?

Community and Coached members can reserve class spots 48 hours in advance through the Heritage Vaughn member app. Foundation members can reserve 24 hours in advance. Class caps are firm at twelve — if a class is full, the waitlist is automatic and you'll be notified within two hours if a spot opens.

What happens when an 8-week block ends?

At the end of each 8-week block, we run a testing week where members re-test key lifts and benchmark conditioning workouts. Your scores are tracked in the member app so you can see exactly how much you improved over the block. Coach Tomás publishes a brief block review and a preview of the next cycle so you know what's coming.

Are classes included in the Foundation membership?

Foundation members have access to open-gym hours and the monthly Barbell Technique Clinic, but unlimited group class booking requires the Community or Coached tier. If you're on Foundation and want to try a group class format, you can attend up to two classes per month as a day-pass add-on at $20 per session.
